Gerry Harvey's getting in on the game pie.
Harvey Norman is getting in the games market. Really.
They're opening a new store tonight at 6PM AEDT called Harvey Norman Direct Import. The aim of the site is to sell European versions of games to Aussie gamers at cheap, import prices and, of course, with no added GST (Goods and Services Tax).
The site was open for a short amount of time earlier, where people managed to sneak in. It has since been closed, however, with the opening time announced at 6PM tonight.
As you can imagine, just because games it the market this new venture for the company is going for, it's not the only thing on Harvey Norman's mind. Mr. Harvey today also stated that "gaming is a big category and it's a great place to start." Expect to see more from this Direct Import webstore if this takes off.
It'll be interesting to see what prices games will be sold for on this service, but we'll be sure to keep on it and update you guys with whether it's worth it later on. If you want to check it out starting from 6pm tonight, head over to http://www.harveynormandirectimport.com/ and let us know what you think!
