Australia's biggest mobile development houses, IronMonkey and Firemint, have been brought together to form Firemonkeys, EA announced today.
Firemint, who have created titles like the well-known Flight Control, and Real Racing and IronMonkey, who were known for their Mass Effect Infiltrator, Dead Space and The Sims FreePlay titles on mobile platforms are being merged.
Both studios are based in Melbourne, Australia and have a decade of experience developing for mobile platforms.
EA is pushing expansion for the team aggressively, with new positions in the Firemonkeys team opening up. New titles and announcements are set to come from the new merged development studio this year.
Tony Lay, GM of IronMonkey said "Both of these studios have produced award-winning games and we believe combining the incredible talent pool in Melbourne, as well as leveraging the EA brand, sets us up for further success in the mobile arena."
The new team will work on their individual projects whilst also coming together with EA Melbourne to come up with new projects.
