The Upcoming God of War Show is Recasting Kratos

Prime Video to recast the titular God of War following last month's injury of prior lead Ryan Hurst.

Looks like the God of War TV Show is getting a new Kratos. Last month, actor Ryan Hurst tore his bicep following an on-set accident. Variety is reporting that although filming was suspended following the incident, the actor's recovery could take months, according to Deadline. Hurst also appears in the new Christopher Nolan film Odyssey which launches today.

The reporting suggests that all scenes that included Hurst will need to be re-shot and that this will result in a delay to production, with a view to getting the show back on track by mid-next year.

Prime Video has said that the upcoming show is expected to be a retelling of the 2018 game and its 2022 sequel Ragnarok, where Kratos takes his son Atreus (portrayed by actor Callum Vinson) on a mythical Norse adventure to spread the ashes of his mother, Faye (who's getting her own game next year) from the top of the highest peak of the nine realms.

The show has already received a two-season order from Amazon.
